Los Altos Hills became the 14th city in Santa Clara County on January 27th, 1956. Los Altos Hills is 35 miles South of San Francisco and 5 miles South of Stanford University. The town is characterized by its rolling hills, beautiful creeks and serene valleys.

 In March 2008, the Los Altos Hills City Council awarded GreenWaste Recovery, Inc. a contract to provide garbage, recycling and yard trimmings collection services beginning October 1, 2008. GreenWaste Recovery will bring new and improved levels of service for the town of Los Altos Hills. We are thrilled to be a part of their community.
