GreenWaste has been a pioneer in cost-effective waste management practices in Northern California since 1991. Our newly completed materials recovery facility in San Jose is one of the most innovative processing facilities in the world, capable of sorting and recovering 85% of household waste. Our 85% diversion rate translates into huge volumes of material that are not buried in a landfill; instead, they are given new life as usable products.

At GreenWaste, we work with our sister companies to operate three facilities: our state of the art materials recovery facility (MRF) in San Jose; Zanker Road Landfill, which is a national leader in construction and demolition diversion; and Z-Best composting facility in Gilroy, where yard trimmings and food waste are transformed into nutrient rich soil amendments. These three facilities work together to provide the most environmentally sound options for local communities’ collection, hauling and recycling needs.
